Recruitment Terminology
 

I'm planning to go through recruitment next year (deferred formal recruitment) and I was wondering if someone could pleas explain what ribboning is? Is it the same as pledging?

I search, but couldn't find any information.

Some groups pin ribbons on their new members on bid day instead of the actual pledge/new member pins. The ribbons are in the sorority colors.
