Owl Pal Gift Ideas

I don't know if you all do this so if not, I will explain. If so, skip the next paragraph haha.

So my chapter does owl pals. From bid day until big/little reveal, each new member is given a different active each week to be her "owl pal." the active writes the NM a note each day, something uplifting that helps the NM get to know the active and make her feel welcome. I remember some of the gifts I got included a cute little owl tupperwear container filled to the brim with tootsie rolls, a handpainted glass vase, an owl bandana, and a hand stitched stuffed owl.

I need gift ideas. I am getting a NM this upcoming week (bid day is this saturday, so i need the notes and gifts for next monday through friday.) I want to craft and not spend too much money. I will likely have a few NM's as we can take a NM class of 8 :D and I like to do this. I am pretty crafty. Any ideas?

I'm not a Chi Omega, but my sorority had similar gifts and activities. Some craft ideas I've done:

* Pick a theme (study kit, mani/pedi kit, snacks) decorate a plastic tupperware container with paint pens and fill with ANYTHING: candy, baked goods, school supplies, nail polish, etc.

* Candy-gram: Decorate a poster and tape candy bars to it to replace words. You were "MINT" to be a Chi Omega. "Now and later," you are my sister. Etc.

* Decorate her door with posters and ribbons and balloons. It's an awesome feeling to come home and see this!

* Sew a pin pillow. Cut two squares of fabric, sew up 3 sides, stuff with stuffing, sew the last corner.

* Decorate a pin board with wood letters that spell out her name and the sorority. Include some pretty thumbtacks.

* Decorate a t-shirt or tote bag.

* Decorate a candle.

* Cover a binder in fabric to make her a scrapbook that she can start to document her sorority experience.

* Loan her a letter shirt for the week. New members often don't have that many sorority clothes to wear just yet.

* Wood crafts: Paint a picture frame, a wooden box, etc., with your letters and her name.

* Make a "cheat sheet" of sorority fun facts about your sorority and chapter history (e.g., date founded, where founded, colors, open motto, etc.)

* Give her a framed copy of your sorority creed or motto. (Most sororities don't allow new members to have anything with the crest displayed until they have been initiated, so double check to make sure you stay within any requirements/restrictions).

* Decorate a basket for her to keep all of her sorority stuff in one place. You can paint wood letters/hearts/symbols and hot glue them to the basket. Add some ribbon.

* Get some oversized wood letters, scrapbook paper and mod podge. Cut out the paper to fit the letters and mod podge it on. Super cute wall hanging!

* Decorate a clip board with paint pens with her name and the sorority.

Check out pinterest. Tons and tons of ideas for crafts.

Just saw two girls today in a non-NPC chapter with cloth headbands - one had the letters on it, one had the chapter colors like these -

adpiufc many of the things you listed are traditional gifts for big/little in my chapter. But a lot of them were great ideas! Thank you!

HQWest those are super cute! I hope she's girly though because I may do that as a bow :) hahah
