Hi!

I am new to GreekChat and became a member because I am working to bring Greek Life to my campus. I was a previous student at SLU and had a fairly negative experience with NPC, but I am ready to make a fresh start and continue to pursue something that will change the lives of the ladies on our campus!

We feel our admin may not be open to pursuing NPC greek, so we might start some locals and then affiliate later on. I am so confused on what to do with rituals and I do not want to adopt things that current NPC's use as symbols because I don't want to copy them in case we affiliate later on. If anyone has some suggestions, I would love to hear them!

All 26 NPCs have websites which contain information on such things as mottos, creeds, values, symbols, etc. That's a great place to start in avoiding copying or duplicating.

Confused: what is a previous student? and what is SLU?

Do you mean SLU as in Saint Louis University?

I'm guessing she means she "was previously a student at SLU."

SLU is St. Louis Univ.

If the current administration is not open to NPC organizations, I am betting that they will be even less inclined to approve locals. You really should start by getting their approval.

Thanks for the translation/interpretation. I'm pretty low on guesses lately. And am now more confused, because if that was what she meant, where is she now? Is she a student elsewhere? Oh, just nevermind.
