Greek Dreams!

Has anyone ever had dreams that involved Greek life? I had one last night, and I remembered a lot when I woke up (I normally don’t remember my dreams).

Real life backstory: I “rushed” and pledged in the fall of my sophomore year, and was initiated at the beginning of spring semester. At the end of that semester, my chapter closed due to low numbers. We all became alumnae, I stayed at school and graduated 2 years later.

Last night’s dream: Apparently I transferred schools sometime after being initiated, and planned to participate in sorority recruitment. I thought that through this process, I would either be accepted to affiliate with the Chi Omega chapter at the new school, or, if that didn’t work out, I would join one of the other sororities. The day of recruitment, I was all dressed and ready to go, when suddenly I remembered (!) that I wouldn’t be allowed to join another NPC sorority. At that point, I also became certain that the Chi Os were not going to want me. I ran off, desperately searching for the director of Greek Life to find out if that campus had any locals or other alternative sororities I could join. I tracked her down and asked my questions, but then the dream ended, so that was it.

I guess that’s what happens when I read Greek Chat last thing before going to bed.

^^I have a similar backstory to yours.

I've had dreams about rushing and ending up ASA, but the campus/house looks completely different, except my room, which I move into right after rush. I've also had dreams about re-rushing after my chapter closed. In my dream, everyone knew I was an ASA, but they allow me to rush anyway. I usually (but not always) ended up DZ.

When I get really stressed out I tend to have recruitment dreams. I was our chapters Assistant Recruitment Chair my sophmore year, Membership VP/Recruitment Chair my Junior year and Co-head rho chi (pi chi, gamma chi, etc) my senior year. The dreams usually involve no one showing up for recruitment, late bid lists, wrong bid lists, forgetting that it is recruitment, etc. (And this is of course 13 years later).
