State meetings
 

I think TKE should sanction a big group meeting of all the chapters in each state at least once a year. It could help fraters in that peticular state to get to know each other and too make new friends. Once they know each other the fraters can all get together and make plans to help out the chapters that maybe hurting during rush. All the chapters of that state can collect a certain amount of dollars from each frater to pay for the event too. I know quite a few sororities do something similar to this and I think TKE should do something like it too.

I went to Phi Mu state day, and it was a blast. Not only was it so cool to meet Phi Mu's from other chapters and hear what they were doing, we also got to meet a lot of area officers. Of course, the best part was the drive, because who doesn't like a road trip?

The ZTA's here go to "Zeta Day" every year for Virginia, and they love it. I think the TKE day would be great for every state, have the fun of Conclave yet not have to travel as far, have a different university host it every year and rotate it so every chapter has a chance to show off.

That's how we do it. We are the only chapter in Illinois, so we go to Indiana state day. It is generally a luncheon, followed by an open house at the chapter house. It always costs under $20 a person, so lots of women can attend if they want. For some of our members, it is the only chance they have to meet sisters from other chapters, which is a really important part of the fraternity experience.

Alpha Gams have "International Reunion Day" every April- it's a state wide meeting set on the same day throughout the world so the feeling is that all Alpha Gams are gathering for that same day.

It's a formal luncheon (collegates don't pay a dime) with speeches from each chapter president about our years accomplishment as well as each chapter entertaining (I hate this part) lol. Usually this entails singing chants.

There's tons of AlphaGam items to buy- t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags...I spent $100 last year at IRD!

We're hosting it this year...We're probably the chapter farthest away. Glad I don't have to drive far! :D

we're actually trying to put something like that together for pennsylvania. we're trying to get in touch with our province advisor right now to get as many chapters as possible involved.

Our province normally meets in the spring it is always a fun day to meet new Tekes and chill with your fraters from everywhere if you dont do it you should find some state near you that does

I know TKE has RLC's, there's one in Dallas coming in February. But, my boyfriend Eric, who is the president of the Dallas/Fort Worth alumni chapter is coordinating a state day (got the idea from Tri Sigma, we have a state day in Austin every year).

Anyway, there will be a Texas state day for alumni and collegians. It will be in Austin, TX this summer. Pass the word on!

Something like a TKE "all-state" Conclave, Reunion, or whatever you would call it sonds like a great idea! It could also be something that alumni groups could get in on too... A NY TKE gathering would be great!
