New Years Resolutions

Every year we make declarations as to how we are going to renovate ourselves. What are some of the ways you intend to improve yourself whether it be physically or otherwise?

I normally don't make resolutions, but...

I am going to REALLY try and understand my dude and where he comes from. This is going to take the most from me, I'm a control freak (I admit it), and I like things my way. You communicate to me, MY WAY, that type of mess. I'm going to really make an effort to grow out of this. And I guess I can apply this to all of my relationships. This is overwhelming, lol, I might have to take this off the list.

I want to be healthier (diet & exercise).

I am going to do better with my money. *sigh*

I'm giving my credit cards to my momma. I'm back in debt again and don't won't to bring my shit load of debt into my future marriage.

You know, this years has gone by quickly. I remember posting resolutions this time last year. Time sure does not stand still.

I'm dedicated to becoming a more layed back person. I'm going to change the way I stress over tasks and the way I react to stressfull situations. I'm not going to be Angry man or James Evans SR. as my people like to call me. Since heart disease runs in my family I'm going to watch my cholesterol. That means adding more vegetables (less Butter) to my diet. Since I'm 6'3 and 285lbs of man, I'm going to get back to my football weight 265lbs. I think I need to be around for my wife and son and future grandchildren so that I can drop my wisdom for a few more years. Renew my relationship with GOD is a must. I will no longer introduce myself to people by my last name.... Starting next year I'll introduce myself to people as Charles (MY first name). But Y'all can still call me DEX to signify old friendships.

I hope to:
1. Become more committed with my walk with God by joining ONE auxiliary at church (extention from last year)
2. Count my blessings and learn more patience.
3. Actually start utilizing the 24-Hour Fitness membership I pay good $ for monthly (I was really great until June of this year--haven't seen the inside of a 24-hour since).
4. Work a bit at not being so erratic in my relationships, and showing how much I love, care and respect the folks in my life(especially with my most amazing boyfriend :)).
5. Complete at least ONE major house restoration be more dedicated to working on my house.
6. Spend more quality time with the dog.

2.The only thing I've thought of really is to curb the drinking to minimal/non-existent. I think my taste buds are being affected and stuff, so I'm not feeling it. I can always just get a buzz of the roots.

( 2&1/2 .Prob. settle down, have a few kids;...hmm, I can see it now)

Peace to you and Yours.

Normally, when I make a really important resolution, I don't stick to it. So this year, my resolution is simple: to finish my laundry when I start it. I have a lot of clothes. And, when I wash them, I normally don't put them away until a few days later. So, there is constantly a laundry basket in my bedroom and it just gets in the way. Sometimes, and I hate to admit this, I don't put my laundry away until the next week when it's time to wash clothes again.

My New Year's Resolutions are...

1. To keep family and God first in my life, because I never know what could happen

2. To take everything one day at a time

3. Not to rush to accomplish anything; there is nothing worth rushing for

Those are my New Year's rays of sunshine. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/natur/sunny.gif Until next time, people!!! :D
