So sad. My heart aches for her family and friends.

Thoughts and prayers go to the family, friends and community of the young women. In addition to driving carefully, please buckle your seatbelt. It says that five passengers were ejected from the pickup and while the accident could have broken the seatbelts, it is unlikely for it to happen to all five.

Depending on the model, there is a possibility of six seats. Bench seating in the front cab fits three in the first row and with an extended cab they could also fit three in between the driver's row and the bed of the truck. Six seating is an available option though it is not standard equipment.

Rachel was a childhood friend. Her family and friends are staying incredibly strong through this hard time. The other passengers have serious injuries from the updates on FB and have a long way to go. Keep them in your prayers as well.

I haven't read if they were wearing their seat belts or not, but I don't want to assume that they were not.
