Skits
 

Everyone talks about skits, and it seems like doing them during recruitment is so much fun, and common place....

WE DONT DO THEM IN CLARION :(

I wonder why, it just seems like it would be a ton of fun... and something different...

What do y'all do each day? Do you have a no frills rush?
We had 2 skits until my junior year (on the 2nd and 3rd day) now we just have one on the 3rd day. It was because of the no frills policy.

Skits are fun, but they're really a TON of work even if your chapter uses basically the same format year after year. At my school, skits always involve at least a couple of songs and dancing routines (only the "good dancers" in the house have to participate). We start rehearsing months ahead of time. I'd say that preparing for skit night is definitely the most time consuming part of rush.

We did lots of skits:

- During house tours (rushees spend 10 minutes in each house) we generally did about 6-7 minutes of conversation and a quick skit.

- During round 1 we were allowed to present skits.

- And we did skits during our theme parties (round 2).

That's 3 skits, plus a pref ceremony, plus all the conversations - can you tell I liked being a rho chi? j/k :) They're great if you're a rushee, but a royal pain if you're a sister.

Ali, we used to do them back in the old days! :D I don't know when they stopped. ZTA & AST were good at them but they were about the only ones...I know that when I heard skits were being phased out, I was definitely not upset, because we always sucked at them. It was stretching enough for us to have a theme.
