We were posting at the same time. I loved to hate me some JR Ewing. He will be missed :(

I prefer to remember him as Tony Nelson in I Dream of Jeannie :)

Well no more "Who Shot JR" mysteries...

The report I read said Linda Gray and Patrick Duffey were with him in the hospital when he passed away. That is really sweet, it sounds like they were great friends IRL.

Sigh...I hate to see JR go to the big Southfork Ranch in the sky.

Me too. I loved him as JR, but he will always be Major Nelson (and Mary Martin's son) to me.

RIP.

I remember walking in to see my dad watching Dallas when it was first on and saying "Aw! There's Tony from I Dream Of Jeannie!" My dad said "well, on this he plays a real S.O.B."

Testament to what a great actor he was that he's remembered as being equally perfect for both these characters.

What a guy! As a "youngster" living in Dallas back in the day, I answered a casting call I found in the newspaper and was hired for many episodes of Dallas as "background" as they called it. I was a school teacher and I had my summers off when they were in Dallas filming and it was a perfect summer job. I had so much fun for $50 a day and meals. I was in the Board Room for meetings, at Baby showers at SouthFork, at the Oil Baron's Ball and in a sweatshop making something Anywhere and everywhere! It was great until they started filming most of it in California. They were all so lovely to us. Linda Grey, especially. What memories!

Fun Dallas tv show memory

In Fall 1980 our chapter held Sisterhood Date Nights to watch Dallas episodes while pledges met the actives.

Later that semester, clever sisters re-wrote The Twelve Days Of Christmas for our Holiday Party and included these lyrics when they sang:

On the Fifth day of Christmas my sisters gave to me: "Who Shot J.R.??"

For the final verse of the song (mentioning all 12 Xmas days) they changed the fifth day's lyrics to sing: "Kristen Shot J.R.!!" ;)
