Nowhere else to turn

Okay so here's my issue to make a long story short. I rushed for Alpha Kappa Alpha because it's in my family and it was enforced in me that that was what I was suppose to do, but I was rejected for whatever reason. I'm okay with that because as I sat there I started to feel weird and out of place. I have always wanted to be part of delta sigma theta, but I don't know if I've ruined my chances. Can anyone tell me if I should just forget out it happening?:(

Thank you for any advice

Hey Aspire,
I went to a rush before for Delta Sigma Theta and they made it CLEAR that they aren't the second choice for anyone, and if you applied for another NPHC org than you cannot apply for them. I'm so sorry for the bad news. BUT every chapter and campus is different and I'm not a member of any org just a fellow Sister Friend. :). So try it out anyway you'll never know.

Good Luck

K

You will probably need to lay low and wait for grad chapter.

I have always felt the rush process for collegiate NPHC should be a mutual selection or bid process. Both the organization and the candidate should mutually select each other. Students should be uniformly exposed to all organizations so they can make an informed and HAPPY decision.

Good luck.

You need to ask them, and not here.

I agree. Very good advice. Chapters can be very fickle about an interest attending the rush of another organization. Greeks definitely talk, so given that Aspire12 attended the rush of the AKAs, chances are, the Deltas already know. Waiting to pursue her organization of choice at the alumnae level might be her only option at this point.

Aspire12, I wish you well in your endeavors, and please don't let this get you down. When it's your time, it will happen.

Holy moly at the original post. I smell a troll though.
