University of Oregon transfer
Hello! So I am planning on transferring to the UO next fall and have been dreaming of going greek for as long as I can remember! But I am really worried that my sophomore/junior status will really limit my chances of getting a bid. I have a 3.3 and I'm not sure how my credits will transfer just yet, so I could be at the end of my sophomore year or the beginning of my junior year when I transfer. If anyone has any advice that would be fantastic! Also if anyone knows how the UO handles upperclassman npm's that would be great as well! Thank you!!

Hi Izigrl.
I transferred to Oregon for my sophomore year and went through recruitment. There are a few stories (including mine) about Oregon from a sophomore perspective. Sophomores in recruitment are not that unusual. There are typically quite a few every year. UO tends to be pretty good about transfer credits. Juniors are not as common, but when I was a rho gamma two years ago, I had a junior transfer in my group. She had a very successful recruitment. I'd suggest trying to up your GPA a bit. 3.3 isn't bad, but it isn't steller. Best try to go in with your best foot forward. If you have any more questions feel free to PM me, even if it is just about transferring to Oregon or being a duck! |
