The Girl with the 'Zebra Leg' Wows Hog Country

She sounds like an amazing young woman.

That's really a great story!

That's a great story. As a former cheer tumbler, I can not begin to imagine the blood, sweat, and tears it would take to master the sport with a prosthetic leg.

gee_ess, have you heard much about this girl? And did she pledge?

KDCat 09-18-2012 12:06 PM

My boys go to gymnastics at a big gym. There is a little girl there who is the on competitive team and has a prosthetic leg below one knee. She's amazing.

(They're all amazing. Gymnasts need nerves of steel.)

Exactly. Anything about you that is different, memorable or what some might call "weird" - don't hide it under a bushel. WORK IT.

That's exactly what I thought when I read this earlier today!

I love these kinds of stories. I have a student who has Down Syndrome and cheers at a big all star gym in my area. I've seen those athletes compete. They amaze and inspire me every time.

LOVE THAT STORY! Thanks for sharing.

This is amazing. Flying is tough as it is, without having to try to balance while having two unequally-weighted legs. Get it, girl!

This brought tears to my eyes. Can you imagine how the little boy felt to see one of the cheerleaders out there who could relate to him?

Thanks for sharing this!
