Hi there!
I have been a major creeper of this site but I have never joined or posted. I am just now starting rush and today was the open house where I met all of the sororities. What I am curious about is how do all the actives remember names? There are only 7 sororities here and about 430 girls are rushing at the moment. Today we went to each room and met each chapter and had to have at least 20 minutes with each chapter, but most of the time we only met one girl and sometimes it was two PNM's on one active. How can they possibly remember everyone that they talked to????

study, study, study and preparation. PNMs have no idea how much work goes into prep for the parties. Even when diosaurs roamed the earth, we studied the rush applications and pics for days. Then brushed up on who we talked to each day. Enjoy your time! Good luck with your recruitment.

When the rushers politely and quietly walk away from you, as soon as you're out of sight, they FLY into gear, taking notes, saying What was the girl's name in the green room to their rush team members, etc. And then flying through the house, cleaning up, replacing cups, putting chairs back where they belong, etc. And then about 15 minutes later they put on a smile and a very faked appearance of calm and start it all over again. Rush behind the chapter doors is a complete mad house. You the rushee have a break between parties; you'd never believe how much gets accomplished in that few minutes for the chapter members.

Also, remember that while you are looking for a chapter, they are looking for members. You don't walk into a house trying to remember everyone's names. You're trying to get a feeling for each chapter to decide which one is for you. The chapters, though, are looking at individuals, so they make a point to remember names and details about each person they meet because that's what they are looking for. It's a different mindset.

This is why we talk about having GOOD conversation pieces.

"Hey remember that girl with that really cool pearl and sapphire necklace?" = GOOD

"Oh, great, banana-shirt girl is back." = Not Good
