ADPi recolonization at Ole Miss: Fall 2013

Mississippi – “Ole Miss” – Fall 2013!

Grand Council is pleased to share that Alpha Delta Pi has been invited to recolonize our Delta Sigma chapter at Ole Miss in fall 2013!

Located in Oxford, Miss., The University of Mississippi is a public institution with an enrollment of 13,065 students, 52.4% of whom are female. The University of Mississippi offers baccalaureate degrees in the traditional liberal arts and sciences, interdisciplinary studies, and professional schools, along with masters and doctoral degrees. Enrollment has been steadily increasing the past several years, growing from 10,580 in 2008 to 13,065 in 2011. Alpha Delta Pi‟s Delta Sigma Chapter at Ole Miss was open from 1961-1995. Currently, Ole Miss is home to nine NPC groups including Alpha Omicron Pi, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Phi Mu and Pi Beta Phi. It is an extreme honor and privilege for Alpha Delta Pi to return to the Ole Miss campus and Panhellenic! We look forwarding to "coming home" to Ole Miss in 2013!

Great news!!

This has been discussed to a fare-thee-well on the (Chapter Expansions Thread. My personal belief is that the architecture of the former house (sold, thank heavens, to the University) was a very big blunder in prior years, so I'm really hoping to see something more in line with Ole Miss as a house - yes, antebellum. That would fit in with the other sororities, and put us on equal footing. I think there's a picture of the old house on the Expansions thread, so that you can see what I mean.

I'm not saying that this should happen at EVERY campus, but at Ole Miss, it's necessary!

I am certain ADPi will build a grand and "southern" style home at Ole Miss! I cannot wait for ADPi to join the other sororities on Rebel Drive!

I like that even more! I had just used the google Image search, and used what they gave me. Don't forget that I don't intend to die until I've had a Sweet Tea on the veranda of the ADPi house, with all our GC friends!

Thanks for the clothing photo on the Ole Miss thread; I've got plenty of time to acquire the correct ensemble. Wanted to know if it is okay if I wear cowboy boots, Converse, or go barefoot (I plan on a very LONG, sweeping skirt).

I also have lots of time to practice saying "fixing to" and "y'all" but I cannot promise to look at all natural when uttering those words.

Last thing: the UofA campus is all torn up due to the streetcar project, but as soon as the streets are reopened and back to normal, AZ Alpha Xi and I will go on a photo shoot so you guys can see the wild and crazy mish mash of architectural styles on our campus.

I think ADPi is a terrific choice for Ole Miss. Great news!

Speaking of mish mash .. do you want to include photos of former houses as well? I also vote for photos of the FIJI and Kappa Sig (now occupied by Sigma Chi) as well.

I know that Kappa Sig left, but Sigma Chi took over their house? When did that happen? God, I hate not being in AZ anymore. I miss all the good stuff on the campuses. LOL. You and AZTheta are my links. LOL.

Sigma Chi moved in when Kappa Sig left (3-4 years ago?). Kappa Sigma will move back in after they recolonize.

And, we heard that Sigma Chi is going to build. Is that right, AZ-Alpha Xi?
