SHAME
Last year, a fraternity brother recommended that I see a film called Shame, starring Michael Fassbender. I went ahead and got the Blu-Ray because he thought so highly of it and I read a lot of good reviews.
It was a disturbing, yet thought-provoking film about sexual addiction, among many other things. I liked it a lot - and I don't generally like "artsy" types of films. Who else saw it? http://www.amazon.com/Shame-Blu-ray-.../dp/B006OB3K56 <-- there is a description and reviews and such. |

I've wanted to see it....now its out on DVD, I will pick it up....but I've heard nothing but good things about it

I saw it, but didn't care for it. I don't think it explored the true nature of sexual addiction, only really touching on it in a couple of scenes. I felt it was just too gratuitous.

Interesting.

It was available at my local library for check out. It was an eye opening film. I watched it with my bf and it was just very sad and drawn out. That last sex scene...WOW! The relationship with his sister, his relationship with his real-life girlfriend Nicole Beharie's character - it was so everywhere it was basically nowhere. It was nice to see Michael naked though :o

Speaking of SHAME, there is a movie (I believe a foreign film) that I watched years ago about strange sex addictions. I cannot remember all of the movie and cannot remember the name of the movie. It was a very good movie.
This man was a police or federal investigator of sex crimes. One of the first scenes involved a man (man #1) whose sexual fetish is having another man (man #2) cut off his (man #1's) penis and other body parts and skin sections, cook these body parts and skin, and then feed the skin to the man #1. When the investigator came into the house and found the chopped parts and blood in the bathroom, he then went to the kitchen and found man #2 cooking the parts and feeding it to man #1. Man #1 screamed "It's MY body! I want to be eaten! It's MY body!" There's a scene later on with a man (was it the same character as man #2?) who has a "fat fetish." He preys on morbidly obese women who cannot get out of bed and constantly feeds them. If memory serves me correctly, the investigator ends up torturing this man in the end by making him starve to death. I cannot recall but I think that's it. |

I loved it but I could see myself never watching it again.
That Michael Fassbender. Whoa whoa whoa. SHAME! (I am drunk btw) |
SHAME.
Am I the only one who does not know what the hell is going on in "O Brother, Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney. I am watching it on Bravo and either GC is that distracting or this movie truly is strange. |
