Just joined today and was wondering if anyone has info. on the sorority recruitment going on right now at Univ. of S.C. in Columbia. Does anyone know how many girls are going through it this year? Last year pledge classes were 108. They brought on a new sorority this year, but will that be taken into account for quota now? (I heard this new sorority will not recruit until later) Would appreciate any info. Thank you!

The colony is not taken into account with quota. If you read through here about RFM you should get an idea about how the quota number and quota additions are reached. The number of girls rushing does NOT impact your ability to find a home. What does impact that is your willingness to accept all of the chapters who invite you.

If you want to go through rush and then drop out so you can consider the colony, you have a big decision to make because you can't go backwards once the decision has been made. If you drop out so you can try for AGD and it doesn't work out, there won't be room for you in any of the existing chapters.
