New Social Chair??
 

I'm a new Social Chair for my sorority. The Social Chair that was before me skipped out on the chapter and practically ruined us. Because she's gone, I have nobody to guide me in what I'm doing. Another thing that should be noted - This is my first Exec. Board position. Long story short, I'm trying really hard but honestly have no idea what I'm doing. I have no numbers to contact the Social Chairs from the frats/sororities on campus, except for one sorority that isn't answering my texts. This is all on top of having a TINY $500 budget for 2 mixers (our chapter is struggling, so we can't afford much, but we're desperately trying to get back up and function more clearly). Any advice on some things that I could do would be greatly appreciated.

If the social chair who was before the crappy one is still there, ask her. Even if a former chair isn't there, other sisters should still be there who know essentially how the office functions.

Do the fraternities have house numbers? Use those. You should be able to get contact info from the Greek life office. (Not sure why you would be trying to contact sororities unless double mixers are common at your school.)

You also probably want to contact your closest national representative to make sure everything is being done in accordance with SDT national policy.
