transfer student rushing at UT Austin
I keep reading stories and posts about rushing as a sophomore. Many people said that it is hard, you have to know people in the sororities, have a good GPA, get involved on campus.... But what if you are a transfer student? Fall 2012 will be my first semester at UT. I am an international student but I was attending a community college here for a little bit more than 1 year. so I do not know anybody at UT but I have a good GPA. I sent my recommendation letters even if I did it a little bit late. My questions are:
_ which advice can you give me? _ what are my chances to get in? What should I do for? _ is somebody going through rush at UT in this forum? _ Do you know anyone who rushed as a transfer student at UT Austin? What happened? Thank you so much. |

WE CAN'T TELL YOU YOUR CHANCES! Keep an open mind You can't change your status now so why worry |
It is normal to be nervous. I see this post as a channel for your nervous energy. Do something else with that energy. Are you in Austin already? If you are, go out and about and meet people. Recruitment is about getting to know people and if you get a head start, so be it. When you are not coming from a high school where "everyone knows everybody", you have to find a way to get to know people.
