Convention 2012!
For those of you who went to convention, what was your favorite part(s)?
I will answer as well, but not until I get enough sleep to be coherent. I hope this encourages other sisters to go next time! |
I have a few
Convention Related: -Initiation Ceremony presented by the NEB -Reciting certain ritual passages and hearing 600+ voices echoing the same words -Singing the Chorale and realizing you are surrounded by 600+ sisters -Watching my chapter President put our Chapter on the map and being recognized as the newest SAI chapter -PHLEA PHLAM! and having so many people come by our "mini boutique" and give us kudos for all of our merchandise Just Fun: -Rooming with two of the coolest incoming collegiate chapter presidents (from my Province) and one of my best friends -Going to the HardRock Cafe with my chapter and singing classic songs at the top of our lungs -Constantly texting, "Where are you?" so you can sit together -Talking and goofing off into all hours of the night -Meeting UNArose and realizing a chapter member is Syrinx (<---hasn't been on GC in ages) -The Georgia Aquarium! -Soliciting advice from a sister I'd never met and seeing her welcome me as if we'd been friends for years Really, it was the best time of my life. |
Convention
I loved singing the Chorale, though it could have gone a touch faster. All the ceremonies. I kinda cried. Seeing the sisters who have been members since before my parents were born. Getting a picture with Liz Nordling Meeting new friends in the sisterhood The music therapy workshop was wonderful. I could have listened to Yvonne for hours. Fun Stuff The Olympic Village was cool to tour. Many jokes with my chapter sisters. Watching the Olympics in the hotel room. Going out to Hard Rock twice in the same night. Feeling exhilarated and sick at the same time going down those ridiculous MARTA escalators. And the very best part was when my two chapter sisters and I said that we'd go to Convention together every time until we're dead. "Even if we have to push each others' wheelchairs?" "Of course." |
