Can I get the same experience being in a sorority if I can't live in their house?
For a full year i have a contract to be in a dorm or on campus apartment and since its hard to get out of that i have to stay until the year is up so i wont be able to go live in a sorority until my senior year..will i not get the same experience? i do like my space and privacy mostly, but I wanted to be more involved by living with everyone seeing how i am a junior.

Are you in a sorority?

Being Greek is about more than being in a house.
This is the last thing you should be worrying about at this stage. You don't even know the rules for living in yet. You're psyching yourself out for nothing. |

Could you elaborate more on what you mean by rules other than the obvious dues and representing the sorority positively? |

Will living in a dorm be the same as living in the sorority house? Obviously not. Will it be better or worse? We can't really say. That's up to you to determine. But it'll only be a year before you can live in anyway. Assuming you actually receive a bid, of course...... |

If you could explain in your own experience, what are the best things about living in a sorority that you wouldn't be able to get being in a dorm? |

You don't know what the requirements are for living in, so again, you're putting the cart before the horse. |

Also, if you speak to sorority members and council members, why not ask them this question? |

It just seemed easier to get multiple people's opinions on it here, but I will ask them as well. |
