Rushing as a Sophomore at Texas A&M

Hi I didn't go through recruitment last fall because I wanted to get to know the campus and also my parents wanted me to get adjusted to classes and such. I am now a sophomore and rushing a sorority. I was wondering if my chances are completely shot or better because I heard of some quota system?

thank you :)

As a sophomore, you're somewhat less desirable than freshmen because you'll only be a steady dues-paying part of the chapter for three years instead of four. However, a good GPA, solid campus involvement, and extracurricular activities during your freshman year will still make you a viable candidate. If you have a good GPA and have made an effort to get involved on campus, you should be okay. There's lots of threads about sophomore recruitment -- try searching the forums. Good luck, gig 'em! ;)

My daughter knows a few girls that went through recruitment as sophomores at ATM and they did just fine. ATM is a little unique because of the Blynn Team factor. There are more sophomores rushing there due to the fact that they couldn't rush thier freshman year because they were on the Blynn Team. If ATM has a sophomore/upper classman quota, that actually works in your favor. Just go in with an open mind and a good attitude and you will do great!
