A Specific Question on What to Wear
.
|
If they're dressy shorts, you'll have to wear a dressy top and dressy flats with them or they'll look weird, and that might make your ensemble TOO dressy. It looks more like the girls in the pictures are wearing twill or chino material skirts. I would just go with that. :)
Sidenote: LOL at "please do not wear athletic shorts on bid day." I mean at the fact that they have to state it. |
Okay, thanks for the advice!
And that is pretty funny. Everywhere you turn someone is wearing the Nike style athletic shorts! They are incredibly comfortable. :) |
Having been to UT's recruitment last year, I think the shorts are too short. I do think they are cute and stylish, though.
It's going to be a crazy recruitment there this year with some groups in their new houses and everyone else back in the dorm..... |
Since the are longer on you than in the picture (and in Los Angeles that original length would be fine) and you have the legs, my daughters would wear them. With a cute cotton shirt (like a boy shirt with the sleeves rolled up) and loafers...adorable...or sandals.

I think you should tuck the shirt in and wear a cute belt. It will make you look even more put together.

I would add pearls and super cute flats. |

I'm noticing they say shorts are ok but neither of the girls in the picture are wearing shorts. I would wear a skirt or at least a VERY put together shorts outfit. Those shorts are both too low-rise and too short to be comparable to the outfits shown.
I was looking at the Macys website and found some really cute rompers. If your torso can handle them (not too tall!), those would give you the comfort of shorts with a little bit more style. I can't speak to this school specifically, but isn't it typically about right to go one step dressier than pictured? |
DubaiSis- thank you for your advice!
