When George Lindsey (Goober) died just a few weeks ago, I was surprised to learn Andy was still alive.
I understand he was not a very pleasant person to work with.
But maybe that's why he was so good at what he did.
RIP.

I knew this day was coming, but it's still just so sad.

RIP indeed, to both a great Sinfonian who exemplified our values in so many ways and a great Tar Heel who dearly loved North Carolina.

And probably my favorite - Andy explains the opera "Carmen"

Ilione that one. Andy started out doing the club (as in Rotary and Kiwanis) circuit in NC. My parents saw him at a Kiwanis Ladies' Night in my home town. His routine was full of these "retellings" -- "Romeo and Juliet" (which got worked into an "Andy Griffith Show" episode the first season), "Hamlet," "Swan Lake" . . . .

Our favorite, though, was always "What it Was Was Football," which is on YouTube but I'm having trouble linking it.

When I was a little girl,we would always come back in the house from playing just in time to watch the show and eat PB and J sandwiches. Thanks for the memories Andy!
