Student Loans
Anybody else on here have student loans through myedaccount.com which have recently been transferred to myfedloan.org instead? If so, you might want to check your interest rates and minimum payment amounts due.
Thanks, US Dept of Education. I appreciate that you're trying to streamline things, but increasing my interest rate because of a transfer that was NOT my choice is really super not cool. Lawd, I just want to pay these damn things off and get them out of my life. Stupid me for taking them out. |
The website that you use doesn't have anything to do with the rates. You haven't heard of the July 1 increase?

Well.... I had heard of it, but I thought it was for new loans, not existing ones.
|
Oh no. Everything I've read said it's for new and existing :(
|
Both political parties want to keep the interest down so I expect a last minute action to extend the lower interest rate. However, everything I've read indicates it is for new loans.

I didn't know there was going to be a transfer and recieved a lettler about a week before my payment was due. Since mycornerstone recieved all 3 off my loans in the transfer, they were offering different options for lowering the interest rate. I know one of those was enrolling in AutoPay, and there was another option they gave me but I can't remember. Is myfedloan doing the same thing? |
