Chapman - Kappa Kappa Gamma
Some information is starting to come out for the colonization. I will update as I hear more.
Colonization Weekend: February 14-17 Installation Weekend: April 19 & 20 |
The Chapman Recruitment Diaries made me wonder but I didn't want to side track that thread. With recruitment at Chapman in the fall, does anyone know why Kappa ('13) and Pi Phi ('14) are colonizing in the spring rather than right after fall recruitment?
I don't know nearly enough about the colonization process & the myriad options available, but it seems like most colonizations occur at roughly the same time as formal recruitment. Just curious if there's a mysterious formula for this, or something at Chapman that makes a spring colonization more effective. |
I don't know the answer to your question but I think this is what the university wanted. (Just a guess really). I think they wanted to be able to give the chapters more time for PR.
I do know Kappa is participating in the first day of recruitment. |
More updates...
Panhellenic thought that having Kappa recruit in February would be the best way for all chapters to do well in recruitment. Kappa’s formal recruitment will begin Feb. 13th, interviews on the 15th and preference on the 16th. |
I can see how it'd be good to have a break between formal & colonization. I'm more curious about whether this formula has been successful before and if it works better at certain types of systems.

They have tried both Fall and Spring colonization at Chapman. From what I heard the Spring colonization was more successful.
