Spring Rush and Quota?

If your chapter/school does both Spring and Fall rush, how do they compare? Is one more laid back/competitive than the other? Do more girls rush in the spring vs the fall? I want to rush but for reasons I don't have the most phenomenal grades (I have a pretty great ACT score though). I was planning on waiting till spring (I know the school had a Spring 2012 rush). From this thread it says my school doesn't have/doesn't list a quota. Does that mean they can pledge however many they want? And, say, if the quota is 25, and a sorority rushes 25 girls in the fall, does that mean that they can not rush anyone in the spring or COB? I've searched both of these things and I've come up with nothing. Thank you for your time.

If nothing is listed in that thread, it means that we don't know what quota was, i.e. none of the people posting updates are familiar with that particular school. As a general rule of thumb, your best chance at getting a bid is your first chance, and you should rush this fall if possible.

The difference can vary. Some schools only have fall recruitment for sophomore and older students. Some have a fall formal recruitment with a COB recruitment in the Spring or vice versa. It is difficult to compare the recruitments without knowing your school.

The question of quota also depends on total. Quota is typically based on how many women go through recruitment. However, total is how many members the chapter can have (ish). For instance ABC gets quota of 25 which was set, but have 28 openings to get to total. This means they can have quota additions or do COB. Also if they have members deactivate or similar things, they would be able to participate in spring recruitment if they choose.

Ditto to what DeltaBetaBaby said. However, if your grades are under a 3.0, you might want to consider postponing recruitment.

You need to talk to your Greek Life Office and find out the specifics for your campus. The link you gave lists many schools. Some showed a quota for THAT year. Some did not. Quota is determined when all bid cards are signed and turned in. So, we can't give you any information about that right now.
