Alpha Phi at MIT: First to Receive a New Award
The first-ever “outstanding change initiative award” was awarded to the Alpha Phi chapter at MIT.
". . . on May 15 in the Stratton Student Center, the Alpha Phi sorority was awarded the first Stephen D. Baker Outstanding Change Initiative Award . . . " For details -- what the award is, what the chapter did (not really reported except in vague general terms, as a subsequent poster in this thread notes) and so on -- see: http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2012/s...ward-0611.html (Please pardon the crash; just thought some Alpha Phis on GC might be interested.) |
Not crashing at all, thank you! Congratulations to our MIT chapter of Alpha Phi!

Congratulations to Alpha Phi, but what a terrible article. They seem to have forgotten to mention why Alpha Phi won it! It would seem that the article should have had a brief history on the benefactor, an explanation of what the qualifications are for winning the award, and then a description of what Alpha Phi did that was great. And if it was a really good article it would have mentioned the runners up and what they did. I went back to the article twice just to make sure I didn't miss a page 2.
