What advice do you have? How important are the reference letters ... Rush at UT is very different from my university. Do girls get bids from sororities they did not receive a reference letter for? Thanks in advance for any information that you would like to give :)

PNMs don't even get asked back to second round by the sororities where they don't have recs. Recs really should have been received by June first. If she's serious about rushing, she needs to get on that right away and you need to submit whatever legacy paperwork is necessary for your group.

You're an alumna. I don't know a thing about rushing at UT, but you'll probably want to do so using proper grammar.

VERY competitive. She needs to start yesterday working on recs - at least 2 for each chapter...and being a sophomore is going to be tough even though they have an upper class quota. She needs to keep a VERY VERY open mind. Good luck!

Does anyone know the minimum GPA requirement that a sophomore would need to have to even be considered as a pnm?

3.5 to 3.6 unless she is extra special. A 3.0 is extremely low for anyone.

Please stop creating new threads about UT recruitment and keep your questions in one thread. Also, try the search function since there are a bazillion threads about Texas recruitment here.

If joining a sorority is so important to your "sister" I think she should be the one here doing the research.
