I had no idea that she was so active in Pi Phi! :)

She truly was! And her Pi Phi friends remained some of her closest her whole life long. Once I get started on Grace I cannot stop, so be forewarned :-)

Grace Coolidge wore her Pi Phi arrow in her official portrait. It is a bit difficult to see in this picture but the golden arrow is visible on the upper left corner of her dress. She posed with her dog, Rob Roy. I think she looks pretty smashing...

Oh, that story is fabulous!

Mrs. Coolidge's Pi Beta Phi pin is in the Smithsonian Institution attached to her inaugural gown.

I remember because I was visting D.C. with a good Pi Phi friend and she made us go to the Smithsonian just to look at that pin. :D

The dress in the portrait
 

Mrs. Coolidge gave the dress she wore in the portrait to the daughter of one of her maids. At the Pi Beta Phi Headquarters, there is a replica of the dress and the diamond arrow her "Round Robin" friends gave her before the portrait was dedicated.
