Is this an okay outfit?

I'm going to an informational tonight and was told to wear "semi casual business attire" and well, I don't really have that because 98% of my clothes I brought home already.

Sorry the picture quality sucks...I took the pic on my phone and the mirror is dirty as well...but the outfit is a black and white striped skirt with a black cami, white shrug and purple patent flats.

Do you have a more structured top? I think the cami and shrug are OK but a little fru fru for semi causual business atttire - so maybe a collared shirt? skirt is perfect....just think another top might work better....just my personal opinion...

I just saw this now (I was at church when you posted), but I wore my outfit and it was fine. The other girl interested was wearing jeans as were the sisters. I took 98% of my clothes home already so I had to work with what I had left.

Jeans for business casual. Interesting.

I guess they need to send out a guide with the invitation.

Casual- pajamas
Business casual- jeans
Formal- tuxedo t-shirt?

I'm not sure they told the other girl what to wear, and just because they wanted me to wear semi casual business attire doesn't mean they needed to wear it as well. I was a little surprised and felt a bit overdressed, but overdressed is better than underdressed.

I looked it up:

According to this jeans are okay for semi casual, just FYI.

That has ZERO to do with what a college organization means when they say "business casual." Or it should if the members know what they're talking about...then again this is a group running underground rushing and pledging so I guess they don't follow correct fashion rules either.

Semi-casual is not business casual.

For instance, a collared shirt, jeans (not with holes or shiny stuff), polo, nonrevealing sun dress, or khakis can work for semi-casual but that does not automatically make them business casual.

KeepOnSingin 05-14-2012 11:56 AM

They didn't say business casual. They said semi casual business attire. I'm also not sure why everyone is getting so down on them for what they wore.

That is business casual.

We are not getting down on anything. We are members of GLOs. You are an aspirant/hopeful.

I'm not gonna bother arguing.

DrPhil 05-14-2012 12:10 PM

Just keep on singing.

The motivation behind my username is that even when things get bad or things are tough, know that they're gonna work out so keep on singing/keep moving forward.

That's deep. And not at all cliché.
