This one seems to make sense.

I read a bit of it and thought it was really great. She's really informative and seems to come from a place of helping. Hope PNM's read some of her insight.

I went to go read this blog and it did seem really helpful as an incoming freshman! She talks a lot about recommendation packets which I am sort of confused about. I went on to the website of the sorority my mom was in and it seemed like alumni just submit everything online. So if everything is online where does this packet come into play, because it seemed like you are supposed to send all of your paper work to the person writing the recommendation and then you get the recommendation and send it off in the mail yourself. Maybe I am totally misunderstanding how this all works and I need someone to explain it to me? However, I do understand that it is always good to send the writer your resume.

No, you give your information (resume, photos, transcript, whatever they ask for) to the person writing the recommendation. She sends her recommendation directly to the chapter of her sorority at your school. You do not see the recommendation.
Yes, it can all be done via e-mail...at least for my group.

When I write a letter of reference for a potential new member, I have them email their pictures and resume' to me. I then do an online letter of reference and attach the documents and pictures to the electronic document. The Chapter will get everything I send. If the PNM does not have her pictures and resume in a electronic format, I have am fortunate to have a scanner to make it easier for me.
