Being a legacy does not exempt you from requirements of membership selection. If Rita Random needs a letter of reference, Lana Legacy needs one as well.

I would suggest looking at the thread about schools where you absolutely need recs. Also, a rec letter wouldn't hurt even as a legacy.

Many sororities require both a rec and a separate letter of introduction from the mom or sister who's already a member.

Since requirements vary from sorority to sorority, it might be best to ask your family member. If she doesn't know, perhaps she can contact her HQ on your behalf.
