The Historian in me...

I am curious, do you ladies think National would have pictures of the first sisters of Beta Sigma Phi? I wonder if they would give me more information on the history. I know the basic stuff but I am a curious gal. Is there a published history book at all?

Hmmm...that's a great question. I don't know. Are you on Facebook? You can easily connect with Laura Ross Wingfield on there. She would know. Or you can just call International.

There is a history book now that was published a few years ago. I am sure that International has pictures. Did you ever get a response? I would love to see that picture!

I never did get a response...A history book?! Where could I find one?!

History books can be ordered from Gift department. You have to call or write to place the order. I've been trying to save for one. :)

I bought the 75th Anniversary book when it came out. While I did enjoy it, I did feel it was overpriced for what I got. It is only 143 pages and it contains mostly pictures. About 95% or more of the information (though not 100%) contained in the book can be found through various links/documents on the National website. Thus why I felt it was overpriced, because outside of pictures, the information and history presented was not really new or going beyond. I have not seen it for sale on the website in a while. It is possible they may have sold out of them. I have seen them on eBay however so you may want to try there.

As to your original question of pictures being available of some of our first sisters, there is a photo in the book of sisters attending the first Founder's Day celebration in Vinita, Oklahoma in April 1932. That is the oldest photo. There is another picture from 1939 from a Pledge Ritual. All other photos are from the 40's and beyond.

Awesome! Thank you! I will be on the look out...for a lower priced one. ha

Same here. I am very curious about our first sisters and haven't found much information. Maybe, I'm not looking hard enough. :-(
