Can We Get Some Help?

To start out I just want to say all advice is welcome and appreciated.
A few of the students at the school I go to are in student involvement, and we had a discussion about having Greek Fraternities and Sororities on campus. My school is a newer college in Georgia(6yrs old), but it is a four year institute. Their are about 8,000 students and we have a pretty big campus. We just got intercollegiate sports and will have a football team next year. How do we attract Sororities and Fraternities to our campus? Actually my friends and I have thought of a Fraterity that we would like to start a colony of and have been reaching out to every branch we can but keep getting put in circles.Theres about ten of us that have made up our minds to try and get the ball moving all of which have atleast a 3.0 and are very active in our community. We reolize that the reason we want to do this is not about us and what we want, its about the other people that want a guiding light to a better future after us, and the young men that will been shown the light threw us.Its about the person next to you and the strugles you'll go threw to make it to the top and the people who go threw the struggle threw it with you that you know you will always hold each other down. Its about growing up while you get your education and networking and fellowshipping with other men that follow the same dream you are.
So if anyone can sent or respond with any and all steps, connections, or just a point in the right direction, we can walk the rest of the struggle together and hopefully oneday reach the promise land. Thank you

1. How does the administration of your college feel about the possibility of Greek life? You need to determine that before you can really proceed.

2. Once you get administrative approval then you should contact the headquarters of fraternities you are interested in pursuing. Contacting "branches" (chapters?) will not get you the information you need.

Good luck.

If you're at Georgia Gwinnett College, I think groups will come in time. While I think you should work on contacting the HQ of the organization you're interested in regarding their colonization, you should be open to other organizations also just in case the one you want isn't open to colonizing at your school.

I stopped counting at 35 spelling and punctuation errors. He was either drunk or is not academically prepared for any college or is a troll. I'll take the bet that he is all of the above. Do not feed the trolls.

His post was not so mangled that it couldn't be understood. Chill.

GGC10 - SWTXBelle is right on the money. The school needs to be open to Greek life before you can proceed. If it's a new university, campus activities/Greek life is likely in the master plan, so there's a possibility that colonizations will be put off until the school feels it's ready to support the groups.

If you feel like doing something besides just waiting, maybe a couple of you can talk to somebody from your student life office and see if the university has plans on bringing in Greek Life.
