Ohio State fraternity under investigation-Beta Theta Pi
Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, located at 165 E. 15th Ave., is being investigated on the local and national levels for reasons unconfirmed as of April 12, said Martin Cobb, director of communications at the administrative offices of the fraternity.
“We’re still in the process of moving through conversations and investigations in the chapter,” Cobb said. “We’re not at a point where we can make definitive statements in one way or the other.” http://www.thelantern.com/campus/ohi...tion-1.2847277 |
Behavior problems cause Ohio State fraternity to close
Ohio State University’s Beta Theta Pi fraternity will shutter its doors because of ongoing behavior problems, including a recent hazing allegation. Members of the fraternity met with advisers Sunday night. Beta Theta Pi’s national board of trustees voted to suspend the OSU chapter because of a pattern of problems and “a lack of transparency and forthrightness during the investigation process.” http://www.dispatch.com/content/stor..._to_close.html http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/...huts-down.html |
So sad when this kind of thing happens. Happened to my own dad's chapter at Univ of CO, DTD. One would think that college, a serious and wonderful commitment to a great organization, and some wisdom would prevent people from still doing these kinds of things. It makes a huge deleterious impact on all the years of alumnae and the entire organization when a group of young men make these kinds of short-sited and poor decisions. So sorry Beta Theta Pi!
