How does someone who wants to be a member talk to the current members?
Do you have any advice for when I see them around campus? Should I make small talk or compliment them? I don't want to seem desperate. I'm worried that I might have ruined my chances. I saw three of them sitting in the student center and I sat at the seat across from them waiting for my friend. I didn't say anything. I was so nervous! I didn't think they would remember me.
They looked busy and I didn't want to interrupt their convo. I just introduced myself at the tea party. I don't really know them. I hope they don't think I'm stuck up. Honestly, I was too afraid to go up and talk with them and I didn't know what to say. Should I have said something? There is a skee week next week. I'm going to try and talk to them then. I hope they forget this situation. |
Oh my goodness.

FYI: she is interested in an NPHC org. Whole different recruitment structure than formal NPC orgs.

~sigh~ Oh dear ... Before I pass judgement on anyone, ... Was I like this before I made it to AKA Land? I can't even remember anymore. Especially since today is my AKAversary! I'm 12-years-old today! :D

OK... I am going to give an answer. Just be yourself. Go to events and participate in community service because you actually want to, not just because you want to be a member. Learn as much as you can, be humble, pray on it, do not feel entitled, and do not be annoying. Be cool, calm and collected. I would not ask questions like this on a site, you seem... well "thirsty". :(
