SAI Recruitment and MIT Event Ideas!!
 

Hey there!
My chapter of SAI is graduating a ton of seniors this year so recruitment is a huge deal for us in the coming year! I was recently elected VPM and I am trying to come up with events or activities during the recruitment and MIT process! Our usual events are just not cutting it anymore and we are looking to somehow re-invent ourselves on our campus. My only worry is about some of the events being considered "Hazing"....Anyone have any fun and creative ideas to throw out there?! It would be much appreciated!!

Here's some of what we've done:
Progressive dinners (kept it to the music building so we don't have to make sure we have enough cars/make potential MIT's drive)
Board game nights
Made mocktails
Bracelet-making party
Open choir (we have SAI choir once a week)
Paint Monster (you have to get three stripes of paint on your arm and get back to the safe spot before people with sponges catch you and wipe it off)
Girls' Night In (movie and nail painting)
Baking Party
Bowling

I may be missing something, but I hope this is a great bouncing-off point for you. The most important thing is to get your chapter involved in making decisions, too. If your sisters enjoy the event, it will make it that much easier to have a fun time talking to potential MIT's.

We had a fiesta theme this semester and it was so much fun! We had 20 girls rush. :)

I also love the idea of bowling. That would allow for fun and time to talk. I wish you the best of luck!!

My chapter had a week of recruitment events coordinated with Mu Phi Epsilon since both chapters were competing for women pledges. We voted who to admit on Thursday night--prior to our Formal event (usually on Sunday). At this event we performed a small ceremony (written by two chapter members) that culminated with each girl being handed her bid. I have a soft copy of the ceremony. PM me if you want it!
