Zoning Laws

My chapter is looking at a lot of the hoops needed to jump through when building an off campus house. We were wondering what type of zone is most common for greek houses since there are soo many people unrelated living there.

i've been trying to get into contact with the city's zoning coordinator but i've had no luck because either he's out of the office or on the phone or I'm busy.

Depends on your state, county, and city/town, so I'm not certain anyone here will be able to help you.

Does your University have a law school? Bet one of the professors who teach the law of real property might be able to help you find where to start. Also the law library can be of assistance.

The law faculty doesn't exist to provide free legal advice to undergrads.

My university has a student lawyer who provides basic guidance for minor issues, as long as it's not against the university or another student. It's "free" (paid for through a student fee) and is used as a tool to empower students before legal troubles arise.

Perhaps your university has something similar, and if so, they may be able to provide a referral.
