Formal?
 

My first formal is in April, and I have some attire questions. My date is in the Marines and wants to wear his Dress Blues. Is that too dressy? He doesn't want to be overdressed.

I don't think ANYONE will have a problem with your guy wearing his Dress Blues. You might want to keep an extra tight hold on him though. :D ;)

Any formal I've seen is full on formal and dress blues would therefore be fully appropriate.

Wear a blue dress and you'll be fine
