NPC Badge Day - or Badge Weekend?

I mentioned this in the Badge Trends thread, but just in case you don't indulge... Most of us know that NPC Badge Day is Monday, the day to wear your sorority pin and show that you're part of the Greek experience. But not all of us work somewhere Pin Attire is appropriate.

So, I'm going to wear my pin to church on Sunday, and see if I can maybe meet a sister for dinner on Monday (DH will be in Phoenix for Spring Training, poor baby!) and make it a two day affair. Anyone else want to join me and rock your pin over the weekend? It's not like we can do it all that often!

That's a good idea, I can wear my badge to church!

I was actually thinking of wearing my quill to my standard Sunday morning activity, coffee with the Palm Pals. I don't usually wear quill attire to coffee, but maybe this is a good reason to spend a few minutes extra on my appearance.

*bump* Don't forget your badges tomorrow!

Wearing mine today with pride :)

I thought I'd share what Alpha Xi Delta sent out today, reminding members of how to wear our quill in a time of mourning, something we are all doing right now as a result of the BGSU tragedy.

I had planned to wear mine to work today, but we got a snow day!

I do really like the church idea. My previous job required the wearing of scrubs and wasn't badge worthy.

SO glad NPC Badge Day is a Monday. I can wear my chapter clothes all day!

Very nice! I just hope that we don't have to do that often.

I don't know if ADPi has an official way of mourning, but we would wear a black ribbon under our pin, usually for a week (or 2 chapter meetings).

"The sign of mourning is to wear the Quill for three days with the letter “Xi” covered in black."

I can't tell from the picture, but how do y'all cover the Xi? Is that some sort of fabric?

I'm wearing my badge, today! Of course, as our Founder's Day was yesterday, I wore it yesterday at church, as well!

Either black fabric or black tape.

I pulled out a sweater this morning that I hadn't worn for a while and discovered that it still had my badge on it from a month ago when I wore it briefly for a photo op. Rather than wrestle with that tiny little clasp, I wore the sweater and badge to work today. And now I find out that today was NPC badge day. How bizarre that my first time wearing my badge to work happened to coincide with the day thousands of NPC women were wearing their badge! Thank you, NPC, for letting a non-NPC girl participate in your celebration of affiliation, even if it was purely accidental on my part. :)

We should really wear our badges more often than twice a year on National Badge Day and Founders Day. We should be proud to wear them any time we wear badge attire. Membership is life-long. I personally like to try to wear mine at least once a month. I like the 17th because my Fraternity was founded on April 17. Keep your badge out where you can see it and proudly wear it any chance you get. And if you haven't had a reason lately, make one up!
