Active Greek Members Being Called GDI

How do you all feel about active greek members being called GDI? Does that make sense to use such a term in relation with someone who is already a member of the Greek community? I have heard it use to describe non-greek affiliates and normally it is not offensive when used in that context. However, lately I have been seeing it being used to describe greek members who other greek members feel are not group oriented. What do you all think of this?

Who is saying this? Other Greeks? Non-Greeks?

This seems very dumb.

ETA: Never mind. Says it's other Greeks. When I was undergrad, I didn't give a damn about what other Greeks thought of me. My group was what mattered to me.

Some of us fnd it offensive in any context. While I'll admit that it makes no sense to use it to refer to someone who is Greek, I'd rather it never get used at all.

I think people within the group are the ones calling certain members GDI.

I'm assuming the ones who don't show up to certain meetings or events are being called GDI by their borthers/sisters.

Those groups need a lesson in not airing dirty laundry.

Edit: Nevermind

Yes Greeks in the same org are saying it to their sisters. However, not because they do not participate in servicing the community or chapter meetings but because they are not be as sisterly as they would like them to be. Does that make sense?

Sorry I meant to direct that to you Knight.
I would have to agree with you. It makes me uncomfortable when I see sister putting their other sister out in the open for no reason. Thank You.

Did something get deleted?

No Im new to the chat thing I might be just messing things ups but the discussion Im having is based off the term GDI and how ppl in the same org are calling each other GDI as a way of insulting there own sisters. what do you think of that?

I actually find the grammar and spelling here more offensive than what you're talking about. :)

I don't think it's any different than calling them slackers or jacket sisters or lame-os or missing sisters or what have you. If someone is calling YOU this, it means you need to either shit (participate more and give more back to your organization) or get off the pot (resign your membership).

True, but I have never heard of someone using that within an organization (ex. if I think one of my frat brothers is slacking, I'll tell him "you're slacking"). It sounds like some members are spreading chapter business to other people.
