Chapter suspension
 

I would like some advice.
The chapter of the sorority at my college that I am interested in has been suspended. Most of the chapter members were suspended in 2009 with a suspension expiration date of November 2011.

I am positive that there are no members or advisors for the sorority at the university and that all members have graduated by now.

Would it be wise to contact the regional office or the chapters region cluster coordinator to find out when the chapter may be reactivated/reinstated?

I think you mean November 2012. If your question is will they be reinstated early, the answer is no.

But maybe I don't understand your question. Are you thinking the probation period ending and chapter reinstatement will be different dates?

I think she had her dates right, and I think she's talking NPHC...In which case, good luck. That's about it.


If it is NPC (doubt it), then forget it because you're not going about it the right way.

How are you interested in the chapter if it has no members? Sorry I'm not understanding you. Was the chapter forced to leave campus, or were just certain members removed?

In any event this is likely not the only sorority on campus, have you gone through recruitment before?

If the sorority was asked to leave campus, they do not ever have to return, even if they are allowed to do so. You may be hoping for something that may never happen.

Point taken. For the umpteenth time, can we please get at least enough information to know which conference posters are talking about?

NPHC. All the clues were there. She's asked this question before and I guess she didn't like the (non) responses she received.

I apologize for the tone of some of our members. It sounds like you are just seeking information and if the chapter you are referencing is in the NPHC, the historically black sororities, I think that it would be entirely appropriate to ask the Greek advisor at the school you attend or the Region Coordinator for the sorority in question. (For the information of NPC members on Greek Chat, many black women seek membership to only one NPHC group based upon reputation and family affiliations and do not go through the recruitment process where you meet all of the groups, like we do. That's just how it works in NPHC.) I hope you can find the answer that you need from one of these sources. Good luck!

If you're such an expert on the NPHC then you should also know that asking these kinds of questions on a public message board is bad form and no one here should be giving advice on how she should approach this situation, particularly an NPC member.

We apologize and bow to your obvious wisdom and insightfulness that the rest of us are apparently lacking. I now feel a stronger connexion to my NPHC cousins, having had this knowledge imparted.
