This depends a lot on the kind of campus you're at. At a huge school with a huge Greek system, maybe it applies...but at a small school or one with a Greek system where everyone knows everyone, it doesn't matter if you are wearing letters or not. Everyone knows you're Stephie the ZTA or Jack the TKE.

Yes, there will be times you'll look like crap, and yes, there'll be times when you screw up. But that's part of being human. You don't become a perfect person the minute you receive your bid. If we continually put across/try to enforce such an image, it cuts down greatly on our membership pool and probably drives away some people who would be fabulous, hardworking members.
