2012 freshman question

Going to be freshman 2012 wondering how legacies work. My mom wasnt a Theta but her sister was in 1983 would a letter from my aunt be of any benefit to me? My family is very conservitive and from what I read from rankings seems to be three houses that a faithful christian would feel comfortible in. Of course this is only what I have read on ratings but Theta, kkg, gpb at OU any other fun conservitives? Any suggestions? thanks :)

It wouldn't hurt to have your aunt write you a recommendation. Whether that'll be a benefit to you, that's not for any of us here to say. Membership selection isn't discussed here.

If you go into recruitment with your heart set on only three sororities, you'll be very disappointed. Don't pay attention to rankings, gossip, or ratings. Go into recruitment with an open mind to find the best fit for you.

You'll be surprised that most, if not all, sororities have members who share the same beliefs as you do.

Your aunt may write a recommendation for Theta, however, you will not be considered a legacy. Only sisters, daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters are considered legacies in Theta.

I agree that you should look at all groups on campus and stop looking at silly rankings.
