Question about past inside-GC knowledge?
 

I wasn't sure how to word this thread title, because I really don't know what to call it. lol.
Well, through a weird twist of thread-roaming, I managed to stumble upon a thread which spoke of a "competing" greek forum site...
This was in a pretty old thread, but seeing all the drama revolving around it, I was curious to know what site it is that was spoken of...
If this is a completely irrelevant and inappropriate question, I truly am sorry. I do not intend to bring up an offensive topic.
I am just an overly curious person :)

I don't recall the name of the site but I remember someone saying they were all about good news and unicorns pooping rainbows and as a result they fizzled out pretty quickly. I think you're not aware of it because it no longer exists.

I don't think so. And there is one of "those" sites that still exists, but it's just laughable. I've looked at it a couple times just to see if I could get any idea of how a campus works and several chapters won't even be listed and others clearly are being voted up by their own members. I have yet to see one that even approximated reality. Thankfully it's so blatantly off that even the most naive teenager would figure it out pretty quickly and disregard it.

It still exists. I don't think it has ever had more than 150 registered members.

ZTAOnlytheBest, the site was started about 5 years ago by two or three (I think three) GCers, one of whom at the time had been banned repeatedly and one of whom has been banned repeatedly since. (They have a way of coming back under new usernames, but it's always obvious who it is.) Their stated intent was to get away from the "mean people" on GC and create a flame-free forum with nothing but helpful and friendly people. (Rather ironic given the behavior that has kept two of them banned.) For a long time, whenever they thought people, particularly newbies, here were being treated the least bit harshly, they'd send those people a PM, inviting them to their "friendlier" site.

As AlphaFrog says, there's a reason the site was not named or linked to. Around here, it has been known simply as Happy Rainbow Pony Land.
