Lsu spring rush?

Ask the girls you are friends with. How high have you gotten your grades. Are you sure they are high enough to make a difference? There are not many people on GC with experience from LSU so unfortunately, you'll have to decide for yourself.

my daughter is home from LSU for the holidays. She says she does not know about the cut once rule but she does know that only 1 or 2 sororities usually participate in spring rush.

I feel like I would make a great addition to a sorority, and would just love to be apart of an amazing sisterhood.

I didn't realize this was such a common thing until I saw it everywhere on here. :)

Yeah, you hear this crap a lot, but without many people from LSU coming on GC to dispell this myth, it continues. Thanks for bringing LSU experience to the thread.

I am planning to rush again this spring, but I'm kinda nervous because I've heard so much about the "cut once, cut always" rule, although there could be an exception for grades and/or recs. But even with this rule, I've never heard of anyone going through rush again with a bid.

I'm sure it's not a "rule" and I doubt it's even true.

One thing about L.S.U. sororities that is not a myth is that the campus has no NPC groups which start with "Alpha!"

Pretty impressive...

Also, speaking of your grades, take a look at the list for Fall 2011 g.p.a.

If it makes you feel better, I've noticed it on a couple of other message boards I frequent.

I don't think it is real, but I will say my daughters sorority is not one that does spring rush so she has no experience to speak from on that.

Several Alpha sororities were on campuse during recruitment during August looking over everything to evaluate the need for a new sorority. I have not heard anything else about it and if does happen it will probably be after my daughter graduates.

Yes, I have seen that, and my grades are higher than the average, so I think I am fine. Im just nervous that the girl wont realize that I was cut for grades, just see that I have rushed before, and will cut me. Do they go back and look at the reason why you were cut, or no?

Spring rush does not entail "cuts".

Very true. LSU previously had pretty much all the Alphas, but the all closed one after the other (some due to rumors of an Alpha curse after the first closed), but LSU is now open, and there will likely be an Alpha on campus in the near future! ;) Geaux Tigers!

Understand that if you are an older student (sophmore or junior) sororities will often require a higher GPA.... not always, but often. This might be the reason why you have heard that once you are cut from rush, bringing up grades a bit might not be enough the next time around.
