What do you do?

hello girls!

We at the University of Illinois are in a little bit of a bind. We just received our awards from national convention, but we have no place to display them. I know that a lot of other Sigma Alpha Chapters do not have houses and we were wondering what you did with the plaques and certificates that your chapter has. If you could let us know we would really appreciate it!

Thanks!

At Colorado State our student center has office spaces that student orgs can apply for. We used to have a cubicle where we just left things in boxes, but now we have an actual locked office space where we display our awards, Sigma Alpha memborabilia and composites. Maybe if your university doesn't have office spaces your college of ag would have something. I would talk to the secretary of the college. Good Luck

Krista,

Great question! Your chapter may also want to invest in a plastic file box or something similar to keep them in when they are not displayed. The awards are important to display at rush and other formal chapter events as well.

Some chapters have been able to use display cases in the agricultural buildings on a semi-permanent or permanent basis for showcasing awards and other Sigma Alpha information.

Enjoy your last few days as president! :)

Krista,

For our awards the WIU Ag Dept. allows us to hang them in their office. That way everyone can see them including incoming freshman and such. We also just recently got an office space on campus. It has allowed us to keep most of our things there as well. This way all of our things are kept together and not spread out among the e-board. Hope you figure this out.
