Mother's Weekend

I need Ideas for events and crafts to do for a day and a half for our Mother's Weekend. If you need more information please just ask! :)

I was thinking about doing a tea party! But I need more than just that!

Is there anything particular to your campus that you can do? Is there a show they can go see, something to go tour, an event to participate in?

We are here in Corpus Christi, Texas. It's a smallish campus so there is not much to do here. We live right next to the beach, we did a dolphin watch last semester for Parent's Weekend and went out to dinner.

This. Is awesome.

You're probably in good shape to do anything beach + food and have happy parents.

My senior year, my chapter threw a mothers weekend.

We hired out a dance studio for a few hours and held a Salsa class (we roped in some of our favourite fraternity men to act as our mothers escorts for the class), then went back to the house for a tea party.

It was fun, and I know my mother loved it.

We do moms weekend every other spring (alternating years). Events that are popular for moms include "spa trip" (pedicures, facials, etc. - the members pay for the services but the salon typically offers a discount); hikes (in Corpus you could do a beach walk, including flying kites yes another <>~~~~~~ shameless plug for Theta!); dinner at a local restaurant; brunch at a local restaurant or at the facility (catered); attending a sporting event such as baseball or softball game at the University; yoga session at the facility or at a local venue; zumba or other exercise class; the list is endless!

I've noticed that a huge part of the weekend consists of the moms and daughters all getting acquainted with each other, while chatting and eating and socializing. The events work best when that's built in.
