*************

Among the dead is the gunman's 22-year-old niece (daughter of his wife's sister), Sahra. She was pre-med at UT Arlington and a member of Tri Delta. My condolences to the family and friends of all involved, and to Tri Delta.*

Tragedies do not stop on Christmas day and this is one of the many tragedies that made national headlines. :(

* I do not know whether it is appropriate to type Tri Delta or Delta Delta Delta. Please forgive my ignorance.

This has been on the news up here. I wasn't aware of the UTA (my alma mater) connection, though.

It's very sad. Grapevine is one of those cities where "these things aren't supposed to happen," so it came as a shock (especially with the timing).

RIP to all parties involved :(

According to the article, one of the victims was a member of Tri Delta.

Such a sad, sad story. My heart goes out to all those affected.

Very sad story. I grew up less than 15 minutes from where this happened. Murders of any kind were rare for that area, much less such a large scale tragedy.

According to all the stories that I have read about this, the gunman was never known (publicly) to be violent. We may never know if he had those tendencies behind closed doors, or if any signs had been exhibited to his family in the recent months since the break up of his marriage. For anyone that is experiencing any level of control/violence with regards to a break-up, please, please, please read The Gift of Fear. It could save your life. It is hard to imagine that two entire families have been swept off the earth. Heartbreaking.

May all the victims of this senseless act rest in peace. Prayers for the many friends, extended family, members of Tri Delta, and those in the community that they left behind.
