Torn between the two

Hello everyone and thanks for the advice ahead of time. I have found myself in this situation that has caused me to be torn between to orgs. I know the history behind both of them and they both hold a place in my heart. I have already done my research over the years and as a junior in college I have decided it's time to make a decision.

Alpha Kappa Alpha was the first bglo that I fell in love with, but as I researched I found that I also was interested in Delta Sigma Theta. I wasn't able to talk to any of the ladies from Delta Sigma Theta on my campus because there aren't any (The org just came back to campus and everyone graduated). The ladies from Alpha Kappa Alpha that I talked to I really liked and they seemed like I would fit in with them.

So my problem is I don't want to just pick an organization without giving the other a chance. Especially if they are coming back to campus next semester. I am really in need of advice right now.

I'm not asking anyone to tell me what to do because I know that you can't but some guidance would be helpful.

Neither one of the organizations pop out as an absolute definite to me. I have family and friends in both organizations and they are doing great things. It would be a honor to be apart of either one, I'm just so confused on which one to go after. But at the same time I don't want my whole collegiate career to be over with and I didn't pursue anything because I couldn't make a decision.

Fortunately, you can be apart of both of them!

Apart means separate.

It would be an honor to be a part of either org, not apart of either org.

Yes, it matters.

I know that it matters. I just didn't notice that I typed it that way

If you can't decide, then it's not time.

Luckily, each organization has pathways to membership through alumnae/graduate chapters, so you have as long as you need to be undecided. Just realize that opportunities to become a member on that level are infrequent.

Wow, I was expecting a firestorm and all I got was a smiley face? I'm feeling a LOT of restraint in the room.

If you can't make a decision then you're not ready for either. Once you're in, it's for life. Be careful, you never know if either org would be willing to accept you for intake at all. You sound as if you already know that you would make it.
